What Materials Are Used For Line Striping?

The most common material for line striping is thermoplastic paint. This type of paint is made up of polymers that have been heated until they become pliable, then applied as a hot liquid onto the surface being painted. Once it cools, it forms a hard coating that’s resistant to moisture and other environmental factors – making it ideal for outdoor areas such as parking lots. Thermoplastic paint comes in various colors, including yellow and white, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.

In addition to thermoplastic paint, some businesses may opt for pre-formed tape or plastic strips instead of painting directly on the surface. These strips are typically more durable than paint and provide a more consistent look. While they cost more up front than painting, they often last longer which can save money in the long run. Furthermore, if any lines need to be repainted or replaced due to fading or damage over time, this type of tape or plastic strip makes it much easier than traditional painting methods.
