Line striping is used for different types of jobs, such as lining parking lots or football fields to painting airport runways. We have stripers for small jobs or for larger projects.
Increases Parking Lot Safety
Line striping’s most important function is increasing the safety of a parking lot. When a parking lot has clearly designated crosswalks, it helps drivers look out for pedestrians and vice versa.
Increases your Business’s Curb Appeal
Line striping also helps attract new customers by improving your property’s curb appeal and enabling you to accommodate visitors with special needs using designated International Symbols of Access for marking reserved wheelchair-accessible parking spaces.
Typically, parking stripes measure 4 inches wide and are between 15 and 18 feet long. Professional line striping companies plan the layout for which three types of lines are needed and then determine the edges of each layout before striping begins.

Vickers Line Striping performs a host of line striping services including:
It is very important that you verify the lot layout before you begin line striping to avoid making costly mistakes. In most cases, initial dimensions may be off when you get to the end, and this can be very costly if proper planning is not done.
This is why it is recommended that you measure twice and verify before striping (measure twice, cut once). The curbs, bollards, and wheel stops must be marked before striping and all the wheel stops properly striped if not yet installed.
There are three general types of parking stalls:
Typical stalls need a minimum of 22 feet aisles between stalls, although 24 feet is recommended. For angle parking, a minimum of 16 feet aisle is required between stalls while a minimum of 12 feet aisle is required for one-way parallel parking and 22 feet for two-way traffic parallel parking. The compact stalls measure 7.5 by 15 feet or 8.5 by 16 feet subject to city guidelines. The handicap stalls measure a minimum of 8 feet with an access way that is at least 5 feet wide. Also, for this type of stall, different cities have different requirements that must be followed.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law in July 1990 and became effective in July 1992. Section 4.6 of the act specifies the minimum number of disabled accessible spaces as well as the minimum measurements and signage requirements for line striping projects.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires all parking lots, regardless of size, to have the proper amount of handicapped-accessible parking stalls. Requirements include handicap blue and white pavement markings as well as metal handicap signs at each handicapped parking stall. Typical ADA requirements call for one handicapped parking stall per 25 regular parking stalls.
